I use Panasonic Lumix cameras that utilise full frame and micro 4/3 sensors.

LUMIX G9 / G7

The limitations of the M43 sensor have thought me how to push these cameras to their absolute limits when it comes to image quality and light performance while allowing for a more compact and lighter approach. These cameras still offer great dynamic range and a pleasing filmic look straight out of the camera which I always aim for while shooting. The Vlog and 10-bit options in the G9 also allow additional shadow/highlight recovery and retention in post-production.

LUMIX S5

The full frame sensor of the S5 opens up almost limitless options when it comes to delivering a high dynamic range cinematic image.

The footage also has a less-digital sharpened fell to it when compared to the later models. The camera itself is packed with advanced video features such as a waveform, vector scope, master pedestal settings, and custom LUTs - allowing for even greater creative choices while delivering media projects.

DJI MAVIC 2 PRO

This drone may only make use of a 1 inch sensor, however this is more than any mobile phone can currently offer.

Paired with the correct ND filter, grading, and controlled motion - the footage is smooth and filmic looking.

This allows the viewer to experience an additional dimension, scale, and movement in the scenes they are viewing.

RACING DRONES

I am also experienced in flying drones that are built for more action and speed.

These drones require advanced control in "angle" and "acro" modes, allowing for action-packed scenes while retaining their low-cost and low-risk capabilities.

DJI RONIN S

While hand-held shots can deliver a more organic feel, for additional stability and smoothness I employ the use of a DJI gimbal.

The Ronin comes in handy especially during weddings and when shooting more calm and serene moments (like weddings).

m42 Lenses

There is something magical about these lenses. The metal finish, the fully mechanical build, and the look of a bygone era that still remains relevant in today's age.

The Helios 44-2 was used by cinematographer Greig Fraser to film the high-intensity car chase scene in The Batman (2022)

Audio gear

Whether it's corporate interviews in planned spaces or more run-and-gun scenarios, these microphones deliver great sounding audio with plenty of headroom for corrections in post production.

I use DJI wireless microphones for simplicity and reliability, while the Tascam DR-05 becomes key when a more atmospheric soundtrack is required.

A taste for monochrome

One day I hope to own a Leica Monochrom, buf for now I really enjoy capturing people at work using my 42.5 mm Nocticron F/1.2 (85 full frame equiv.)
